I'm seventeen.

Seventeen.  Holy crap.

     As a child, I thought of seventeen year old girls as wise beautiful rebellious models.  Seventeen to me always showed itself as a wild age, they're no longer new to the world as a sixteen year old is but they're not mature enough to be in adulthood.  I'm seventeen.  I'm seventeen! Holy crap, I'm seventeen!  It all seems ridiculous since here I am now, as immature as ever! I'm still flat chested and have still never laid my lips on the opposite sex.  I still stutter occasionally with my words.  I dream more than I do.  I am 99% sure I am nowhere close to nearing the responsibilities of adulthood.

     But here I am, seventeen year old Sarah.  I'm going to expand my dreams and desires from the world.  Maybe pierce something.  Hopefully hit the period when puberty works its magic and I suddenly look like a goddess.  Will possibly but not likely meet my soul mate.  Perhaps I'll do something amazing and the world will know my name...finally.  Yeah, I'm banking on this all happening.  *laughs at self*

My Summer Playlist of '15

       As a typical teenager may do, I sat down this afternoon and lived and breathed one of my favorite things, music.  

      It is not an easy task for one to create a compilation of songs to perfectly define and inspire one's summer.  One must listen to the radio, their iPod, and their favorite web player in order to find the "chosen" song for the inspirational task these songs must play.  One hour later, a masterpiece is born and will, more than likely, be overplayed.

I joined the smart phone club!

(Before beginning, I will keep this post nice and short to avoid unintentionally torturing the "dumb-phone" owners)

      So many moments of repetitious thoughts wondering what it'd be like to be an iPhone owner. 

 "What would it be like to take out my phone and take a picture of such quality?!  What would it feel like to be so connected to the online world?"  Bliss, baby, bliss.

*many immature girly squeal*

     Three jobs, an annoyed mom, and a satisfied Sarah later, I have finally left the "dump-phone" family and have taken a leap in life!  Sure it's just a phone but if only I could explain how many things in life I did not do because I did not have a good phone to document it.  My virtual life will now increase drastically with pictures.  You have been warned!

Painted Music

     Also known as painted CD's hanging from a pole but Painted Music sounds cooler.  There is nothing I love more (well, besides books) than a tedious art project.  I can lock myself in my room for hours and come out with paint splattered all over myself.  It's utter bliss!  

     Painted Music is a project I took on back in September.  It was inspired by my cousin, Kayla.  She's somewhat of an artist genius if you ask me!  I, of course, asked if I could "copy" her idea and she, of course, said absolutely.  Here I am, months later, with a satisfied and exhausted mind to show you, my friends, how to make Painted Music.

    

Items needed:

• CD's  (I used old unlistened ones from my family's CD rack but you can also buy blank ones.)
• Acrylic paint
• Paintbrushes
• Mod Podge
• Fishing wire or thread
• A stick or pole of desired length
• A hot glue gun
• A scissors
• Lots of free time (Just kidding...no really.)

Step One:  Prepare how you want your layout to look and how many CD's you want.

Step Two:  Paint the CD's.  Go crazy with colors!

Step Three:  Apply Mod Podge over finished CD to prevent chipping. (Make sure the painted CD is dry before using the Mod Podge!!!)

Step Four:  Paint the stick or rod.  You can use one base color or paint a pattern. 

Step Five:  Once all the CD's are painted and Mod Pogde-ed and the rod is painted and dry,  hot glue the fishing wire or thread to the back of the CD's.  Be sure to glue them down the center to make them hang nicer.  You can make as many or as few rows of hanging CD's as you'd like.

Step Six:  Tie the end of the fish wire or thread to the rod.  

Step Seven:  Hang your finished piece on your desired wall, pat yourself on the back, and acknowledge your work!

   
     P.S.  How's the weather where ever you're at?  It's still rainy and 50 degrees in Ohio and it's inspiring me to do nothing but sleep.  Summer, where are you!?  In the meantime, dream big, Darlings!
